Definition of Terms

Semicircular canal

Semicircular canal is like a channels situated at the right angles to each other and they assit the brain with information about orientation that will help the brain to maintain bodily balance.

Cochlea

Cochlea is the spiral cavity of the inner ear containing the organ of Corti, which produces nerve impulses in response to sound vibrations.

Ear drum

Ear drum is also known as the tympanic membrance because it vibrates in response to sound waves. It is a membrane suited in the middle ear.

Auditory Canal

The auditory canal is a hallow tube that opens from the external ear and connects with the eardum.

Eustachian

Eustachian tube cartilaginous tube that runs from the middle ear with the nasopharynx and equalizing air pressure on both sides of the auditory tube. It protect aerate and drain the middle ear and mastoid.
